Settling in…hopefully

We have survived some crazy wind and lots of rainfall. Toast survived the first big storm alone this morning. So far the leaks we fixed, are fixed. There is one new one, but hopefully we can fix that one too. We went out to Seed Savers on Saturday and got all of our seeds and some plants to get us started. We came back and got the ground cherries and cabbage planted. We had another fire and made bison kabobs…mmm! We hoped to get more in the ground Sunday, but we had leaks to fix before the rain. We needed some starter dirt to get some seeds started, didn’t want to buy a whole bag of soil for just one seed tray. Our friends who are doing the CSA let us have some dirt from seed trays they had already used. Recycled dirt….we were pretty excited.

Cooking has still been going well. It makes Toast nervous, but he’ll get there. The stove is a little too tall- even for me. Today’s leaks got a little interesting for Toast. He just told me that he almost started using his socks to sop up water, because we were running out of towels.  In other exciting news, we emptied the poop tank successfully on Sunday, it wasn’t that bad.

As far as the space goes, there are actually cupboards that aren’t totally full. I really don’t mind the space or lack of at all.  For the most part it feels like we have room for everything and space for everything that we want to do. I don’t really mind that you can be in the bedroom, kitchen and living room at the same time.

Riley even took herself for a walk Sunday morning. Toast says a new card game and the spring frogs at night, are enough to make up for the leaks. Oh and the amazing sunset- next time we will get a picture. That’s all for now.
