First Days in the RV

We are finally getting settled in the RV. Today was Toast’s birthday and we spent most of it just hanging out around the farm. I got up and went to work for a few hours, only a ten minute drive, not bad! Toast cleaned up the patio to the house, where we are storing our garden supplies, and did a lot of other putzing. We checked out our newly tilled garden plot and made plans for what we want to plant. The cats are loving life out here. There are a couple rows of big hay bales (the round ones) not far from the RV, and that is their main hangout. They have been really good about staying nearby and coming in at night. Riley loves things as well; boy is she pooped at the end of the day. I think the move was pretty stressful on her.

I have successfully cooked two dinners and two breakfasts here. It isn’t hard as you would think.  We didn’t want to use the gas stove that is in here, because the gas lines are really old. So we got a two burner electric thing and set that on top. It’s perfect! There is a nice chunk of counter space as well, for prep, etc. It has taken more creativity, but otherwise hasn’t been that much harder to cook in the small space. We have a larger dorm size fridge and so far that seems to be more than enough space. We try our best to cook organic, local and simply, so a majority of our food is purchased in the bulk department at the co-op.

As far as other living space, we actually have empty cupboards and a ton of space under the bed. I will get some pictures/video posted as soon as we get our curtains up. I’m sure Toast will add more too (or maybe I’ll be the only one who posts, we’ll see). Off to watch a movie.
